My debut post provides the rationale behind my blog, Godspotting with Sheila. But it doesn’t tell the whole story.
In February, 2009, I felt that insistent tapping at my heart. God was calling me to do something. But what? I prayed and listened, prayed and listened, and still His call wasn’t clear to me. First I suspected He wanted me to go to seminary. “Really, God?” I asked. “I’m already overeducated. Really?”
It wasn’t seminary. In April of that year, I recognized His call to write for Him. Once the task was clear, I prayed for more specific guidance. In June, 2009, I published my first post at Godspotting with Sheila.
My mission is twofold: I write to influence the seeker and to encourage the believer. I post three times each week. On some days, the words flow as the Spirit guides me. Other days, I struggle to get the words just right. But I give thanks for the flowing and the struggling, as I write to honor Him.
. . . My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace. From 1 Peter 5:12 (NLT)
