Grace with Grandsons
This photo shows our younger grandson, Cadence, “driving” the plane, and our older grandson, Ayden, graciously letting his younger cousin take the wheel of the airplane. They are three and five now, but when this photo was taken last spring their birthday odometers had not yet ticked over for the year.
When they come to visit us we share grace around the table before we eat. Papa Rich keeps grace simple when the boys are here: “Father, we thank you for the food in the name of your Son, Jesus.”
They both have big hearts for Jesus.
All week I’ve had a mental image of us sitting around the table, the boys with their heads carefully bowed, lashes resting on chubby child cheeks, little hands holding ours, lips slightly pursed.
It is a sweet, sweet picture in my mind.
15 “I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
Mark 10:15-16 (NLT)
My grandma's (or "Lala's," as they call me) heart compels me to mention that we also have a beautiful granddaughter, Carly….but at age one she doesn't come for weekends yet.
I love this and yes, it's so important to instill the love of God and His grace and mercy at this age…. "Train a child up in the way they should go – for when they are old they will not depart from it"….
