17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.
18 “But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing
And her people for gladness.Isaiah 65:17-18 (NASB)
It’s the weekend. Around here we remove our shoes and tour the stillness. Start with Sandra Heska King’s Still Saturday. Then slip into the circle at Deidra Riggs’ The Sunday Community. You’ll join us, yes? We’ve saved you a place.
My rosebushes are buried under a pile of muddy snow. I’m hoping it’ll freeze out the slugs…
Muddy snow. You’re a brave woman. It was top-down shorts-and-sandals weather here today.
And I am so grateful that you meandered by Being Woven for you drew me here to meet you and to read God’s Word with a reminder that His creation may be buried in snow or whither but He will bring it to life, breathe new life into it. Praising Him with you, Sheila.
I read your short bio under your picture. I am a Navy child, born in San Diego. Then, in 1961, we moved back to the SD area, to La Mesa, exactly where I went to high school and then to Grossmont Jr. College and then SDSU where I graduated with a teaching credential. I taught in the Orange County area for a period until I became a meandering child, all grown up. I think the Navy just never left me! UCSD is one of my favorite college for the place that it sits. I spent many an evening up there with friends who were attending, and then La Jolla Shores.
May your weekend be filled with blessings, Sheila.
Caring through Christ, ~ linda
Hi Linda,
Thanks for stopping by! It sounds like our trails have crossed more than once. My parents both graduated from Grossmont High School and were married in La Mesa.
Yes, yes. We were created to praise, to rejoice, to honor Him!
Created for gladness. Pretty awesome, hmmm?
Well, you grabbed me as usual. I’m a rose addict and a Isaiah addict…so you mixed them together. Thanks. Made me smile and it was a necessity, b/c my tiredness wears me out. But you grabbed my energy level up. HALLELUJAH!!
Ah, Joanne, you bless me so with your encouraging words. Thank you! xoxo
