A Mom’s Prayers…

…Answered! To be more precise, this story is about the prayers of two moms and one sister, answered.
Yesterday my daughter Elaine marked her 28th birthday. Her fiance Rob planned a family camping trip. Her dad, his mom, Elaine’s son Cadence, and Bugsy the beagle spent the weekend camping; Rich and I joined them at their campsite yesterday afternoon to share in the celebration.
Our talk soon turned to the upcoming wedding. At some point I mentioned to Rob’s mom, Judi, that in early 2009 I had sensed that Elaine was feeling ready for a special relationship and that I’d asked God to send a good man into her life.
Before I’d finished the sentence Judi was nodding in agreement. “Crystal [Rob’s younger sister] and I were praying for the same thing for him!”
We looked at each other. We looked at our kids, so in love. Tears welled in our eyes. And I thought to myself, “God is good.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what
you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Phillipians 4:6 (NLT)

  1. I should add that when I returned home from the campsite, I had an email waiting for me from a pastor at my church. Its subject line?

    "Your Prayers are Powerful"

So to all this I can only say I am pleased and blessed to be surrounded by women who pray…

  3. Thanks, Judi…and…ditto!
