Babies, Babies, Babies
On Tuesday I posted about my next grandchild, a little boy due in October. I know four other couples who are expecting babies between September and January. And when I speak to these happy parents-to-be, I see God right in the middle of it.
Jay Kranda works at my church. I’m in touch with Jay frequently, as I serve with the writing ministry and he’s our staff coordinator/fearless leader/go-to guy.
Jay and his wife Jody are expecting their first baby in January. When I see Jay, all I need to say is, “How’s Jody doing?” and he’s transformed. “Jody’s great!” he’ll reply, his standard friendly grin growing to about three times its usual size. He stands just a bit taller. He–well, he glows.
This godly young man is waiting to hold a miraculous gift of God. Meanwhile, I see Him right there in Jay’s joyous anticipation.
27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
29 Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. 30 And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened.
Genesis 1:27-30 (NLT)
