Fifty years ago today, Dad, Elaine and I walked across the dewy lawn at the hospital, my Keds getting squishy as we made our way toward the window. It was dark outside. Dad held me up and told me to look down toward the corner. I may have caught a glimpse of you, under the dazzle of the nursery’s fluorescent lights, under the dazzle in my little girl’s heart; I remember the walk, the boost, and the wet shoes.
And on that Sunday in 1964, I had no idea how much our family needed you.
Happy, happy fiftieth birthday, Tim. I’m glad you were born.
Shhh. It’s the weekend. Remove your shoes and step into the stillness. Stop by Sandra Heska King’s place for Still Saturday. Then dip into the beauty of Give Me Grace at beautiful Lisha Epperson’s beautiful place. You’ll join us, yes? It’s your very own tranquil retreat. And we saved a place for you.
As usual, you showed so much, and shared so much. You, as usual, are a treat! Thanks, Sheila.
It’s my privilege, Joanne. Honest.
